Evelyn Ng
For good reason, Evelyn Ng has been deemed "Queen of the WPT", as over the past few years she has established herself not only at
WPT tournaments, but on poker tables around the world. She has consistently improved her game since placing 2nd at the inaugural WPT
Ladies Night event, as well as frequently placing deep in the money at numerous large buy-in Hold 'Em events.
After graduating high school, Evelyn became a blackjack and poker dealer. It was during this time that she spent lots of time with Daniel
Negreanu, her good friend and poker mentor. Evelyn has developed a solid, but unique style of play, mixing up her game in a fashion
relevant to her specific competition. Her greatest strength at the table is the ability to read her opponents, which enables her to utilize
her tailored style of play. On the lighter side, Evelyn is widely known for her exceptional talent at performing difficult "chip tricks".
There is no doubt that in order for Evelyn or any top pro to stay on top of their games they must practice, which is why she plays five
days a week for an average of six hours a day - mostly cash games and some tournaments. For her to meet her goal of becoming the
first woman to take down the Main Event at the WSOP, or to be the first woman to take a WPT open-field title, she'll have to continue
with her admirable dedication to the game.
Besides playing at the tables, Evelyn can be seen dealing at WPT Hollywood Home Games and starring in other television spotlights.
Evelyn's interests extend beyond the poker world. She is a media and gaming buff, she enjoys music, writing, movies, magazines, TV,
computers, gaming, shooting pool, and pop culture in general. |
