Chip Jett
Chip Jett has become one of the most recognizable personalities in poker, due primarily to the quality of his play, and perhaps a bit because he has one of the coolest poker names in the business. This Scottsdale, Arizona native had fifteen final table appearances in 2003, and is considered by his peers to be one of the top ten tournament players in the game. He admits that his strongest trait as a player is the same as his greatest weakness....his fearlessness.
Chip has a knack for not just recognizing opportunities to take pots, but seizing them. This tactic typically results into one of two things. Either an early exit, or Chip makes it into the money as one of the chipleaders, with a path set for the final table.
A former lifeguard from Scottsdale AZ, Chip switched to dealing poker when he learned it was more lucrative. In the three years he worked at a casino, Chip figured he actually spent more time playing than dealing. By the age of 21, he was a full time touring pro. Today he averages approximately 300 tournaments a year, oftentimes playing in them alongside his wife, Karina, whos own success keeps Chip motivated to keep his title as the most decorated poker player in the family. Chip has emerged as a powerful figure on the poker scene at large, initially gaining mass exposure with his final table appearances on the World Poker Tour. In Season One he finished in second on the PartyPoker Million tournament and fourth in the Legends of Poker event. He has finished in the top 20 on multiple occasions.
When scanning the final table to see who made the cut, you can't miss Chip with slicked back blonde hair and sardonic wit, he cuts a style all is own at the poker table. |
